DALLAS—The community is invited to nominate Dallas Independent School District teachers for the Rotary Club of Dallas Outstanding Teacher Award for Service Above Self.
Winners will be announced in May and will receive $2,000.
Anyone in the schools or community can nominate a teacher for the award given every year by the Rotary Club. Nominations are judged, in part, on teachers' activities outside the classroom that benefit students and the community, such as tutoring without compensation, volunteering in public libraries or homeless shelters, or sponsoring a drug abuse program.
Nine Dallas ISD teachers, three from each school level, will be selected semifinalists in March. The three grade-level grand prize winners will each receive $2,000, and the two runners up in each division will receive $250. Nomination forms can be found online at:
