Dallas ISD Hosts Drug Awareness Parent Academy

Information Sessions Scheduled for Saturday, March 24, and Saturday, March 31

DALLAS–Dallas Independent School District administrators have scheduled two Drug Awareness Parent Academies to educate students and parents about the danger of illegal substances.

The first academy, for the schools in Area 4 will be at 8 a.m., Saturday, March 24, at Thomas Jefferson High School, 4001 Walnut Hill Lane; the second one, targeting Area 3 schools, will be held on Saturday, March 31, at 8 a.m., at North Dallas High School, 3120 N. Haskell Ave.

Fourth and fifth graders, and middle and high school students, as well as their parents, are invited to attend the academies.

District officials, along with representatives from community organizations, will provide information in English and Spanish to students and parents about drug prevention and intervention strategies.

Other Drug Awareness Parent Academies will be scheduled in the future.
