Golden Bears Seek Third Straight State Tit
DALLAS—The Dallas Independent School District's South Oak Cliff High School Boy's Basketball team is headed to the University Interscholastic League's Texas Boy's State High School Basketball Tournament for the third straight year.
The South Oak Cliff Golden Bears (32-3) defeated Dallas ISD's H. Grady Spruce High School on Saturday with a 51-46 win in the 4A Region II championship.
South Oak Cliff, the two-time defending 4A state champion, is returning to Austin's Frank Erwin Center where it will take on Pflugerville Connally (28-6) in a 4A state semifinal at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 8.
Fort Worth Dunbar (30-7) will face Beaumont Ozen (28-5) in the other semifinal at 7 p.m. Thursday.
If they win on Thursday's semi-final game, they will play the winner of the Fort Worth Dunbar-Beaumont Ozen game for the 4A state championship on Saturday, March 10, at 3:30 p.m.
The game will be broadcast on KKGM-1630AM.
