Superintendent's Scholarship Reception Held May 3

59 Seniors Awarded Scholarships

DALLAS–Superintendent Michael Hinojosa awarded 59 seniors $2,000 each in scholarships at a reception held Thursday, May 3, at SMU’s Hughes-Trigg Student Center, 3140 Dyer Street.

The scholarships are given in recognition of outstanding community service, academic achievements and good character and will provide financial support for a college education.

The scholarships are funded by proceeds from the annual Superintendent’s Scholarship Golf Classic.

In addition, the first Joe May Scholarship Award was presented to Adriana Campos from the School for the Talented and Gifted at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center, the top student among the 59 seniors. She received an additional $1,000. Also, a scholarship named after Superintendent Michael Hinojosa’s father, The Rev. Amado S. Hinojosa Scholarship in the amount of $1,000, was presented to Oluchi Ibokwe from Justin F. Kimball High School.
