There is still time for businesses to sign-up to participate in fair
DALLAS—Dallas area businesses are encouraged to participate in the first It's About Our Community Job Fair Thursday, May 17, 2007 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bill Priest Institute, 1402 Corinth Street, Dallas.
Almost 200 Dallas Independent School District students from Adamson, Carter, Madison and North Dallas high schools will be on-site to fill out employment applications. Participating students have undergone career investigation and job readiness training in preparation for the six-weeks of employment.
Job shadowing opportunities are needed for students under age 16.
It's About Our Community initiative is spearheaded by Senator Royce West and supported by Superintendent of Schools Michael Hinojosa. As part of the initiative, the students affirm and commit to their role in making school and community safe.
