Dallas ISD's School Zone Dallas To Air In May On KERA-Channel 13

John Eagle Dealerships to Sponsor Emmy Award-Winning Show

DALLAS-The latest edition of the Dallas Independent School District's student-hosted television show, School Zone Dallas, will air three times in May on KERA-Channel 13, courtesy of John Eagle Dealerships.

This multiple Emmy award-winning TV show will air Friday, May 25 at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, May 26 at 6:30 a.m., and again on Monday, May 28 at 5:30 p.m. Hosted from Harry Stone Montessori in Oak Cliff, School Zone Dallas will take viewers inside Dallas ISD to learn more about the positive things happening throughout the school district.

Stories include why students at two Dallas ISD schools enjoy studying Russian language and culture; what it takes to participate in a high school mock trial competition; and why learning about storm water management is important for the environment.

Some of the district's top grads will be highlighted as well as the Alternative Certification Teacher of the Year. The program will conclude with a performance by a third grader from Phillis Wheatley Elementary who performs a TAKS Rap.

This year's cast members include Hannah Guillory and Alvaro Ramalho, Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts; Poojah Sarkar, School of Science and Engineering at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center; Matthew George, Woodrow Wilson High School; Paula Teague, Skyline High School; Travon Brooks, Humanities/Communications Magnet at Lincoln High School; Jannet Ramos, W. T. White High School; Rudy Gutierrez, H. Grady Spruce High School; and Charlynda Henderson, A. Maceo Smith High School.
