DALLAS–Dallas Independent School District Board of Trustees President Jack Lowe, Superintendent of Schools Michael Hinojosa, Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert, the Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Dept of Education and numerous civic and business leaders will gather at 10 a.m., Tuesday, October 9, for a major announcement regarding the Road To Broad at the Communities Foundation of Texas, 5500 Caruth Haven Lane.
Last April, trustees approved an agressive plan to transform Dallas ISD into a top-performing urban school district that consistently graduates students who are college-and workforce-ready. The Transformation Plan is serving as the road map for Dallas ISD to win the Broad Prize for Urban Education by 2010.
On hand for the celebration will be the James Madison High School Choir, the Bryan Adams Marching Band and Belles Drill Team, and the student TV hosts of Dallas ISD's School Zone Dallas.
