Dallas ISD To Dedicate Middle School Named For Noted Educator

19 Oct 2007

Harold Wendell Lang Middle School Ceremony Set for Saturday, October 27

DALLAS–Dallas ISD officials, students, parents and community leaders will participate in the dedication of Harold Wendell Lang Middle School, 1678 Chenault St., Saturday, October 27, at 2 p.m.

The Lang Middle School dedication celebrates the second of three new Dallas ISD schools opened this school year as part of the 2002 Bond Program.

The three-story, 170,000-square-foot facility located near Buckner and I-30, was built to accommodate 1,200 students in grades six, seven and eight.

The school was named in honor of Harold Wendell Lang Sr., a graduate of Dallas' Lincoln High School who served the district as a teacher, principal and administrator. In 1975, Lang was appointed to oversee the construction of the Lincoln Humanities and Communications Magnet High School and served as its first principal.
