School Zone Dallas Presents First Program Of The New Year

John Eagle Dealership to Sponsor Special Edition of School Zone Dallas on WFAA-Channel 8

DALLAS- School Zone Dallas, the award-winning TV show hosted by Dallas ISD students, presents its first program of the new year Wednesday, January 23, on WFAA-Channel 8, at 6:30 p.m. School Zone Dallas focuses on the good news and outstanding people that are part of the Dallas Independent School District.

Hosted from Irma Lerma Rangel Young Women's Leadership School, School Zone Dallas will feature stories about a group of students from the Law Magnet as they get a Close Up view of Washington, D. C.; students from eight elementary schools from around the district who are taking the Martin Luther King Jr. Oratory Competition very seriously; and a group of girls from Irma Lerma Rangel Young Women's School and the Lincoln Humanities/Communications Magnet who learned a lesson in physics while touring Italy at the same time.

Other stories include Pearl C. Anderson's award winning Step Team who brings a new sense of pride to the school and the community, and an innovative program at E. B. Comstock and Thomas C. Marsh middle schools that has students taking charge of money management through a real-life approach.

This year's all senior cast includes co-hosts Marshaye Meyers, School of Business and Management; and Alvaro Ramalho, Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. Reporters for the program are Isaac Villafana, Skyline High School; Karen Lopez, Magnet Center for Public Service: Government, Law and Law Enforcement; Jessica Lopez and Emalie Price, Woodrow Wilson High School; Kirby Kimber, North Dallas High School; Fredricka Brown, South Oak Cliff High School; Gracie Saunders, School for the Talented and Gifted; and Trenton Patterson, Humanities/Communications Magnet at Lincoln High School.
