Students Will Receive Hands-On Assistance With Admission Applications
DALLAS– The Dallas Independent School District, along with the Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Dallas County Community College District and several universities, will host the "Keys to Success" college fair for the Spring of 2008 on Saturday, Feb. 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the University of Texas at Dallas, 800 W. Campbell Road.
The event is free and open to students in grades 11 and 12 and to their parents, with the purpose of encouraging them to graduate and attend college.
Area colleges and universities will assist students with the admission applications. Students need to bring the following documents: a copy of their parents' 2007 income tax return, a copy of their high school transcript, and a copy of their college admissions essay (if required by the institution they plan to attend).
Also, college representatives will be available to help students and their parents with financial assistance, including completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and will provide preparation tips for college required tests. All information will be provided in English and Spanish.
