Dallas ISD Holds Common Cents News Conference

More Than $60,000 Raised for Charity and Non-Profit Organizations

DALLAS–The Dallas Independent School District students and Superintendent of Schools Michael Hinojosa will hold a news conference to announce the recipients of more than $60,000, collected by students during the Common Cents campaign, at 10 a.m., Monday, February 4, at Communities Foundation of Texas, 5500 Caruth Haven Lane.

Common Cents is a student-led coin collection effort designed to raise money for charity and non-profit organizations while encouraging good citizenship and social responsibility in students.

Students from 61 Dallas ISD schools will make presentations to about 40 charity and non-profit organizations, including American Red Cross, American Diabetes Association, Breast Cancer Prevention, Dallas Children's Advocacy Center, Genesis Women's Shelter, Jonathan's Place, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society – North Dallas Chapter, Salvation Army, and SPCA.
