Dallas ISD's Administration Building Auditorium Named After Ada L. Williams

18 Feb 2008

Williams Served Dallas ISD for 36 Years

DALLAS–Dallas Independent School District officials dedicated the School Administration Building's newly renovated auditorium in honor of Ada L. Williams.

Williams, who retired from the district in 2002, worked for Dallas ISD for 36 years as a teacher, counselor and parliamentarian for the Dallas ISD Board of Trustees.

Following retirement, Williams has continued to serve the community. She currently is Chair of the Credit Union of Texas Board of Directors and President of the Texas State Association of Parliamentarians.

The auditorium project consists of renovation of 3,840 square feet of the old building and a 1,560 square-foot-addition.

The renovation includes a new dais, new seats, new ceiling and lights, acoustical treatments, a new conference room and advanced technology and audio-visual systems. The addition includes new accessible restrooms, an audio visual control room and a glassed-in lobby. The auditorium was designed by Johnson McKibben Architects and the construction work was performed by the Dallas ISD's Building Improvement Department.
