Four District Schools Will Receive $4,000 to $10,000 After Participating in a Fitness Program
DALLAS– In a partnership with the Dallas Independent School District, Jamba Juice will award $28,000 to four district schools on Friday, March 21, during a ceremony scheduled at 10:30 a.m. at the Gaylord Texan, 1501 Gaylord Trail, in Grapevine.
Anson Jones, Ben Milam, Oran M. Roberts, and John Neely Bryan elementary schools participated in the "Active{ism for Kids" Step Program, sponsored by Jamba Juice.
As part of the two-week program, the students wore a pedometer and counted the steps taken. One thousand Jamba Juice employees were assigned to walk on behalf of one of the participating schools and also wore pedometers to count their steps.
The school with the highest level of participation will be rewarded with $10,000 toward improving programs and providing tools that support physical activity for students. The campus finishing in second place will receive $8,000; third place $6,000 and fourth place $4,000.
Manager of Jamba Juice Community Programs, Jennifer Hofeling, and Dallas ISD Director of Physical Education, Elsie Moreno, will speak during the awards ceremony.
