School Zone Dallas To Air April 16 On WFAA TV Channel 8

The show will air at 6:30 p.m. in place of Entertainment Tonight

DALLAS—The latest edition of the Dallas Independent School District's student-hosted show, School Zone Dallas, will air on WFAA-Channel 8, Wednesday, April 16, courtesy of John Eagle Dealerships. The show will air at 6:30 p.m. in place of Entertainment Tonight.

Hosted from Thomas Tolbert Elementary, School Zone Dallas will feature stories about high school students competing in the art of debate; some Skyline students making furniture and sculptures out of metal; a couple of dogs that are making a difference on school campuses; and Common Cents, a student-led coin collection effort designed to raise money for charity while encouraging good citizenship and social responsibility.

Some of the district's top grads, as well as adult mentors who help students at Lincoln High School, will be highlighted. Students will also learn the importance of storm water management.

This year's all-senior cast includes co-hosts Marshaye Meyers, School of Business and Management; and Alvaro Ramalho, Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. Reporters for the program are Isaac Villafana, Skyline High School; Karen Lopez, Magnet Center for Public Service: Government, Law and Law Enforcement; Jessica Lopez and Emalie Price, Woodrow Wilson High School; Kirby Kimber, North Dallas High School; Fredricka Brown, South Oak Cliff High School; Gracie Saunders, School for the Talented and Gifted; and Trenton Patterson, Humanities/Communications Magnet at Lincoln High School.
