The event seeks to encourage and motivate high school and community college students to become bilingual or ESL teacher
DALLAS–In a partnership with the Dallas County Community College District and area universities, the Dallas Independent School District will host a motivational seminar for future bilingual teachers at 8:15 a.m., Saturday, April 26, at Mountain View College, 4849 West Illinois Ave.
The event, also sponsored by the organizations ENABLE, Oak Cliff Center for Community Studies, and LULAC National Education Scholarship (Dallas) Center, has the goal of motivating high school and college students to become bilingual or ESL teachers in the Dallas – Fort Worth area.
The students will hear from motivational speakers, visit with college and university recruiters, learn about career opportunities and the financial aid process. Current college students enrolled in bilingual education programs will participate in a panel to answer questions from future bilingual education students.
Childcare will be provided, as well as refreshments and lunch.
