Second Annual Institute is June 9-13
DALLAS—Dallas Independent School District middle school students will participate in the Second Annual Dallas Wind Symphony Music Institute from June 9-13, at Moisés Molina High School, 2355 Duncanville Road.
The summer music institute is designed to give Dallas ISD students five music-filled days of activities and rehearsals followed by a grand finale performance by the students on Friday, June 13.
The Dallas Wind Symphony members who will be teaching the classes will give students the opportunity to learn their instrument with the help of professional musicians who are seen at seasonal DWS concerts.
The Dallas Wind Symphony is a 50-member band comprised of woodwind, brass, and percussion players from the Dallas area. Led by Artistic Director Jerry Junkin, the ensemble performs musical styles that include Bach, Sousa, Strauss, and Bernstein. The DWS was founded in 1985 by Executive Director Kim Campbell and performs its season concert schedule at the world-renowned Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas
