First Newsletter Will Arrive in Homes Beginning August 15
DALLAS—Parents will soon be receiving a new publication to keep them informed about news and events happening in the Dallas Independent School District.
Connections, a four-page newsletter, will be mailed to parents and district employees beginning Aug. 15. Subsequent issues will be mailed in November, January, March and June.
The new publication is being produced at no cost to the district and is made possible through the efforts of 1st Hour Communications which will pay for the printing and mailing of the newsletter. Connections will be mailed in an envelope format that will have corporate sponsored inserts. Although the district does not endorse any of the companies whose ads appear with the publication, it has previously viewed and approved the ads for content.
Connections will be printed in English and Spanish.
"The Dallas ISD has so much good news to share with the community and this is a great opportunity to do that," said Superintendent of Schools Michael Hinojosa. "Connecting to the community is an integral part of our Dallas Achieves! initiative as we strive to graduate all students college and workforce ready and become the best urban school district in the country."
