Spruce Rising Tenth and Eleventh Graders Will Attend James Madison or Lincoln High Schools
DALLAS–Orientation sessions have been scheduled for tenth and eleventh grade students who previously attended H. Grady Spruce High School and will now be attending James Madison and Lincoln high schools.
The sessions at Madison and Lincoln will assist Spruce students adapt to the change and to become familiar with their new campus. The sessions have been scheduled as follows:
The Board of Trustees approved a plan to move rising 10th and 11th grade students from Spruce to Lincoln and Madison high schools this fall. The changes are necessary because Spruce will likely be rated Academically Unacceptable for four straight years by the Texas Education Agency and because student achievement did not make significant gains this past spring.
Incoming 9th grade students will attend Spruce this fall and will be able to choose from three different career pathways: engineering, business/finance and health sciences. Rising Spruce seniors will have the option to finish their 12th grade year at Spruce.
There will also be an orientation session for students who will attend Spruce at 7 p.m., Thursday, August 21. H. Grady Spruce High School is located at 9733 Old Seagoville Road.
