College Fair Scheduled for Thursday, September 18
DALLAS–The Dallas Independent School District's College Readiness, Counseling Services, Student Support Services, Parent Services and School Choice departments are hosting the second Districtwide College Fair at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, September 18, at the Dallas Convention Center – Hall A, 650 S. Griffin St.
The free fair is for Dallas ISD 12th graders and their parents. The purpose of the event is to provide the senior students and their parents the opportunity to learn more about the college admission process. Students also will have an opportunity to meet college and university representatives.
Students and parents will receive information from educational organizations about college readiness, college admission, SAT/ACT exams, and the process that undocumented students should follow to receive assistance with their college admission.
Students who wish to attend the college fair can pre-register with their school counselor no later than Wednesday, Sept. 10. Registration also will be available on-site. Transportation to and from the Convention Center will be provided for students and parents who need it. Parents riding the bus must register as a volunteer and receive clearance online, by logging on to http://www.dallasisd.org/partners/main.htm; in Spanish the site is: http://www.dallasisd.org/partners/main_sp.htm. Strollers and non-school age children will not be allowed to ride on the buses. For more information about the fair, students must see their counselor.
