Rivals Work Together to Raise Money for Terminally Ill Student and Cancer Awareness
DALLAS—The W.T. White High School season opener with Hillcrest High School will have a special meaning when they come together Friday, Sept. 5, as both teams join forces to fight cancer.
The W.T. White senior class members have been selling pink t-shirts and asking everyone in the community to wear pink to Friday night's game. The plan is to trade in their traditional burnt orange and white and wear pink to promote breast cancer awareness. All proceeds collected from the sale of the t-shirts will be donated to the Susan G. Komen For the Cure.
Hillcrest students are joining to support W.T. White's efforts by selling cowboys hats at their own Western- themed pep rally. Hillcrest students will make a donation at the game to support W.T. White's initiative.
