Parents Will be Provided With Resources to Help Children Succeed in School and Stay Safe
DALLAS–The Dallas Independent School District Parent Services and School Choice Department will sponsor a series of parent universities and drug forums throughout the district during the 2008-2009 school year.
The parent university initiative provides parents information about the district's services and programs so they can enhance their knowledge about the importance of education to succeed in life. In addition, the parent universities help parents become familiar with the resources and services available in their neighborhood schools.
During the drug forums, which are conducted by representatives from Dallas ISD Police and Security and Safe and Drug Free Schools departments, parents will learn about drug abuse and the stages of prevention, intervention, and enforcement.
All parent universities and drug forums will be in English and Spanish.
