Project Opportunity Will Provide Tutoring for Qualifying Students
DALLAS—Students at selected Dallas ISD schools will have the opportunity to receive free tutoring services through Project Opportunity thanks to the federally funded No Child Left Behind Act.
Students are eligible if they attend schools that have missed Adequate Yearly Progress and are in stages two through five of the School Improvement Program.
Tutoring services will be offered throughout the school year through before- and after-school or Saturday programs. Tutoring will also be offered during intersession which may be held when school is not in session.
In order to take advantage of this opportunity, parents must complete an application, select a tutoring service from a list of state-approved providers and submit the application to their school's principal.
Through the program, approved providers will review the student's areas of instructional need, identify strategies that will provide opportunities for solid learning and establish goals with the parent and student.
