Fair is Sponsored by Reliant Energy
DALLAS– The Fourth Annual Dallas Independent School District Science Fair for grades six through 12 will be held at 4 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 31 at Moisés E. Molina High School, 2355 Duncanville Road.
The fair, which is sponsored by Reliant Energy, features projects from district schools at the secondary level, encourages students to take a more active interest in science.
"We appreciate the support of Reliant Energy because it is very important to host this event because it promotes apprenticeship among our students, said Paul Sugg, director – Science Department. "The fair also gives our students the opportunity to develop their thinking and solving problem skills, and allows the community to recognize outstanding students in technological and scientific fields."

"We believe programs like the Dallas ISD's science fair create academic excitement for students in settings outside of the classroom, and encourage youth exploration of careers in science and technology."
More than 470 projects have been registered for the fair. Awards will be presented in 21 individual and team categories ranging from animal science to physical science at the 4 p.m. awards ceremony. Reliant Energy also will present "Special Recognition" awards to the five entries that demonstrate energy efficiency or energy conservation awareness.
