Dallas ISD To Award Student Scholarships

Sixty-two Students Will be Presented Scholarships at Superintendent's Reception

DALLAS—Sixty-two high school seniors will receive scholarships at the Superintendent's Scholarship Reception, 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 22, at Emmett J. Conrad High School, 7502 Fair Oaks Ave.

Superintendent of Schools Michael Hinojosa will present each student with a $2,000 scholarship toward their college education.

The scholarships are given to students in recognition of their outstanding character, community service and academic achievement.

The scholarships are funded by proceeds from the annual Superintendent's Scholarship Golf Classic.

As part of the Reform Governance in Action training program, the Dallas ISD Board of Trustees has developed its vision and a set of core beliefs and commitments. The vision of the board is to be the best urban district in the United States. The seventh of their beliefs is: We believe that a supportive community is fundamental to achieving and sustaining our success.
