Thomas C. Marsh Middle School Dedicates New Facility For The Award-Winning Leadership Cadet Corp Program

Ceremony Scheduled for Tomorrow, Thursday

DALLAS–Students, staff, and community members of the Dallas Independent School District's Thomas C. Marsh Middle School will celebrate the dedication of a new building for the award-winning Junior ROTC program at 9 a.m., Thursday, April 16.

"The Junior ROTC program encourages students to stay in school and learn self-discipline, good citizenship, and leadership," said Army Corporal David Bates, T.C. Marsh Middle School's Leadership Cadet Corps instructor.

The program currently has 237 students enrolled. The new facility will have a capacity for 360 students. The Marsh Middle School Junior ROTC cadets have received over 100 awards, including national championships in the Junior ROTC National Middle School Drill Competition.

Marsh Middle School is located at 3838 Crown Shore Dr.

As part of the Reform Governance in Action training program, the Dallas ISD Board of Trustees has developed its vision and a set of core beliefs and commitments. The vision of the board is to be the best urban district in the United States.
