The Students, Participants of the 'E-Mentoring, Esq. Program,' To Attend End of the Year Banquets
DALLAS–Dallas Independent School District high school students will be honored by the Dallas Bar Association (DBA) and the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers (DAYL) during end of the year banquets on Tuesday, May 12, and Wednesday, May 13, at 4:30 p.m., in the Belo Mansion, 2101 Ross Ave.
The students who will attend the banquets participate in the E-Mentoring, Esq. Program, sponsored by the Dallas Bar Association and the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers. The purpose of the mentoring program is for professionals to help students develop in mind and character, and encourage them to go to college. Through the program, students are able to communicate with prestigious lawyers, attorneys, and other business professionals via the Internet. Students who participate in the E-Mentoring, Esq. program are members of the Advancement Via Independent Determination (AVID) program.
Students from the high schools H. Grady Spruce, W.W. Samuell, and Moisés E. Molina, will be attending the banquet on Tuesday, May 12. The keynote speaker will be the President of Paul Quinn College, Michael Sorrell. The banquet for students from South Oak Cliff High School, Hillcrest High School, and Woodrow Wilson High School will be on Wednesday, May 13. The keynote speaker will be Ed Stewart, assistant commissioner of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Big 12 Conference.
