Greenville Avenue Area Business Association Awards Scholarships

DALLAS—Three Dallas ISD seniors have been awarded $2,500 scholarships to the college of their choice by The Greenville Avenue Area Business Association, (GAABA).

Emigdio Sierra, a student from Emmett J. Conrad High School, Luis Martinez, a student at North Dallas High School and Woodrow Wilson High School student Kara Tinsley will each be awarded the scholarships during the Senior Awards Assembly at their campus.

Each student had to show financial need and apply to college prior to completing the scholarship application.

"We recognize the importance of public education and our association is proud to be able to provide this financial assistance to three outstanding high school students in our area who desire a higher education," said GAABA President Jorge Levy. "We are able to offer these awards, in part, as a result of revenue raised from our St Patrick's Day Parade, which is proof of the positive impact our annual parade has on the community."

The Greenville Avenue Area Business Association is a non-profit organization comprised of more than 50 merchants primarily on Greenville Avenue from Park Lane south to Mockingbird. The association promotes the many varied businesses in the area and develops general awareness programs for the community.

The third core belief adopted by the Board of Trustees is we believe that educational equity and excellence will eliminate the achievement gap.
