Program will Combine Learning with Fun to get Students Ready for High School
DALLAS—Dallas ISD students entering ninth grade next school year have until Wednesday, June 3, to sign up for a special summer program that will give them a head start on building the skills they need for success in high school.
From August 3 through August 13, the district will conduct the High School Early Start program at 21 high school campuses to help students polish their math, science and language arts skills in preparation for high school. Early Start also will feature a variety of fun activities ranging from chess, dance, and vocal music classes to instruction in physical fitness, debate, an
Transportation, breakfast, and lunch will be provided.
Enrollment is on a first- come, first- served basis. Eighth grade students can obtain applications from their school counselors.
The fifth belief adopted by the Dallas ISD Board of Trustees is: "We believe our school district must be a model for sound fiscal responsibility and integrity."
