Former Teacher and Skyline Principal Returns to Dallas

DALLAS—The Dallas Independent School District has selected Claudia Rodriguez to serve as the executive director of Human Resources, which is the office that oversees all aspects of employment, including hiring and benefits, within the district.

Rodriguez started her new assignment, Monday, August 3.

"Claudia Rodriguez brings a solid understanding of Dallas ISD to her new position," said Superintendent of Schools Michael Hinojosa. "She has worked at nearly every level of the district, including as a teacher and a principal, for 16 years. That kind of working knowledge of Dallas will help her immensely in her new role."

Rodriguez, who is fluent in English, Spanish and German, has worked in education since 1980 when she started as a teacher in El Paso ISD. She later became an ESL teacher at W.E. Greiner Middle School, a Bilingual Education and ESL specialist, followed by service as the principal of Alex W. Spence Middle School and Skyline High School. Rodriguez later served as the superintendent of schools in Mirando City, Texas and has most recently been an administrator for the Region One Service Center in Edinburg. She was an adjunct professor in the department of educational leadership at the University of Texas-Pan American.

"I am very excited about returning to Dallas and re-joining my colleagues," said Rodriguez. "There is an excellent cadre of teachers and staff and I look forward to doing everything I can to support them."

"We believe that every student can perform at or above grade level and graduate college and workforce ready to compete in the global economy" is the first core belief adopted by the Dallas ISD Board of Trustees.
