Superintendent Will Visit Schools to Welcome Students, Parents and Teachers
DALLAS—Students in the Dallas Independent School District will begin the school year on Monday, August 24. To kick off the first day of school, Superintendent of Schools Michael Hinojosa will visit Mary McLeod Bethune Elementary School, 1665 Duncanville Road, at 8 a.m., and Moises E. Molina High School, 2355 Duncanville Rd., at 8:30 a.m. to greet students, parents and teachers. Both schools recently achieved a recognized rating by the Texas Education Agency. Dallas ISD begins this school year with 128 exemplary or recognized schools.
"This is an exciting time for the Dallas Independent School District," said Superintendent of Schools Michael Hinojosa. "To begin the new school year with 57 percent of our schools achieving exemplary or recognized status by the TEA is extremely encouraging. We're proud of the students, teachers, staff and parents who all worked diligently last year to achieve these results, and we're ready for another opportunity to continue this upward trend."
The fourth core belief adopted by the Dallas ISD Board of Trustees is "We believe that every student must be educated in a safe, welcoming, effective and innovative learning environment."
