Assembly Scheduled for Tomorrow Wednesday, at 9 a.m.
DALLAS–Dallas Mavericks forward Shawn Marion will be hosting an assembly with students at Hector P. Garcia Middle School, 700 E. Eighth St., Wednesday, Oct. 14, at 9 a.m., to announce the T-Mobile All-Stars program.
The T-Mobile All-Stars program provides a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for local students to attend and experience the T-Mobile Rookie Challenge & Youth Jam at NBA All-Star 2010. During the school visit, Shawn Marion will encourage the students to join the T-Mobile Rookie Challenge & Youth Jam program by signing a pledge committing to academic, reading, school attendance, and community service criterion.
Upon successfully completing these requirements, more than 3,500 local students between the ages of 11-15 from participating Dallas ISD schools will be invited to attend the T-Mobile Rookie Challenge & Youth Jam during NBA All-Star 2010. The T-Mobile Rookie Challenge & Youth Jam will be played at American Airlines Center on Friday, Feb. 12, 2010 and will feature this year's top rookies taking on the league's best second-year players.
