Scorecards for each school in the district will be available on the district's Web site starting today
DALLAS–The Dallas Independent School District has developed scorecards for each of the district's schools. All of the scorecards will be available on the district's Web site, www.dallasisd.org, starting today, Oct. 13. Also, each school will receive printed copies of the scorecards to distribute to parents.
The scorecards are annual reports that provide information about a school's performance and progress toward the district's goals for student achievement. The scorecards clearly communicate how well a school is doing toward fulfilling the district's mission and definition of excellence and helps school leaders set priorities based on performance.
"The scorecards are a way for us to keep the community informed about the progress and the challenges that Dallas ISD is going through," said Superintendent of Schools Michael Hinojosa.
"The scorecards also demonstrate where the district stands in its efforts to achieve the goal of graduating all students college and workforce ready."
The performance measures used to create the scorecards go beyond test scores to include outcomes such as graduation rates, college readiness, attendance, and other key measures of success.
"The Dallas Independent School District and the students it serves have made substantial strides over the last several years. Its academic gains have been some of the most impressive in the country, and the district is now viewed as one of the nation's fastest improving urban school systems."
