The goal of the campaign is to encourage young Texans to fight obesity by eating healthy and staying active
DALLAS–Texas Agriculture Commissioner Todd Staples will launch the statewide campaign Texas Bring It at 10 a.m., Monday, Nov. 9, at Francisco F. "Pancho" Medrano Middle School, 9815 Brockbank.
The goals of the Texas Bring It campaign are the Commissioner's 3E's of Healthy Living – Education, Exercise, and Eating Right, to fight obesity among young Texans.
The campaign includes an interactive display tour to engage students in healthy eating habits and exercise. As part of the interactive tour, an animated public service announcement titled MyPyramid Café will be launched and will feature a wall where students can take pictures with character cutouts and write down what they will bring into their lives to stay healthy.
Dora Rivas, Dallas ISD's Executive Director of Food and Child Nutrition Services and President of the School Nutrition Association, will be participating in the program.
"Top two public high schools in the country-School for the Talented and Gifted and School for Science and Engineering. Finding great schools is hard; finding our list's two top schools close together in the same building is beyond belief."
