Board Convenes Monthly to Address Issues Affecting Students
DALLAS—The Dallas ISD Teen School Board elected officers for the 2009-2010 school year.
The officers are: Mark A. Smith II, president, a senior at Judge Barefoot Sanders Magnet Center for Public Service: Government, Law and Law Enforcement at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center; Julie Negussie, vice president, a senior from W.T. White High School; Claire Estrella, secretary, a junior from Middle College High School; and Damarcus Offord, service project chairperson, a junior from Lincoln High School.
Teen School Board meets monthly to discuss issues affecting students at school. Through the board, students have an opportunity to offer advice about their concerns to the superintendent and have a voice in leadership decisions. Teen Board is comprised of two class officers from each Dallas ISD high school.
