Award for Commitment to Fitness and Health to be Announced at School Assembly
DALLAS—W.E. Greiner Exploratory Arts Academy will be awarded a $5,000 grant from Fuel Up To Play 60 for their participation in the health and fitness program. The grant will be presented at a special assembly at 11:15 a.m., Tuesday, December 1, at the school, 501 S. Edgefield.
Fuel Up To Play 60 is sponsored by the National Dairy Council and the National Football League and is a program that empowers youth to take action in their school for their own health. The goal of the program is to make long-term changes in school nutrition and physical activity, and it encourages students to commit to at least 60 minutes of physical activity a day.
Greiner will use the grant to purchase cafeteria equipment and to enhance physical education, health and nutrition programs at the school.
Former Dallas Cowboys defensive back and Skyline High School graduate Allen Rossum is scheduled to attend.
