Mike Harmon and Texas Hippie Coalition Visit Medrano Elementary School to Present $2,500 Check
DALLAS—NASCAR driver Mike Harmon will join with the southern, hard rock band The Texas Hippie Coalition at 1:30 p.m., Friday, December 11, at Esperanza "Hope" Medrano Elementary School to present a check totaling $2,500 to Little Kids Rock to be used in its efforts to keep music education in schools.
During the last three years, Little Kids Rock, a national nonprofit music program that provides free instruments and instruction to under-funded public schools, has supported music education in Dallas ISD schools. Little Kids Rock programs are presented in the Dallas Independent School District with the support of Thriving Minds.
Medrano Elementary School is located at 2221 Lucas Drive.
"Dallas ISD is pioneering a college readiness warning system and we are proud to lend our support to it," in announcing a $3.77 million grant.
