Dallas ISD Students Are Invited To Participate In The 2010 Dallas Hispanic Youth Symposium

8 Feb 2010

Application Period Open Through March 31

DALLAS–Dallas Independent School District students who are currently enrolled in the 9th and 10th grade are invited to participate in the 2010 Dallas Hispanic Youth Symposium from June 16-June 19, on the Southern Methodist University campus.

Hosted by the Hispanic College Fund and Southern Methodist University, the symposium will offer students the opportunity to connect with Hispanic mentors, attend workshops on college admissions and financial aid, compete for $10,500 in available scholarship funds, and meet with college admissions officers from across the country.

The program, which is also open for students from other school districts, requires only a $10 commitment from students. All other expenses, including transportation, odging and food, will be covered by the sponsors. Approximately 200 students will be selected to attend.

The application period closes Wednesday, March 31. For application requirements and to apply, students should visit the Web site http://www.hispanicyouth.org/symposium-dallas.

"Top two public high schools in the country—School for the Talented and Gifted and School for Science and Engineering. Finding great schools is hard; finding our list's two top schools close together in the same building is beyond belief."
