Official Filing Period Begins For School Board Candidates

Packets Can be Submitted to the Board Office Beginning Monday, February 8

DALLAS—The Dallas Independent School District will begin accepting filing packets from candidates seeking to run for election to the School Board in May. The filing period officially begins Saturday, February 6, however, candidates can begin submitting packets Monday, February 8.

Three seats will be up for election:

• District 4, Southeast Dallas, Seagoville and Balch Springs, currently represented by Nancy Bingham
• 
  
• District 5, portions of East Oak Cliff, Oak Lawn, West Dallas, Wilmer and Hutchins, currently represented by Dr. Lew Blackburn
• 
  
• District 7, North Central Oak Cliff and parts of West Dallas, currently represented by Jerome Garza

Filing packets are available at the Board Office at the Dallas ISD Administration Building, 3700 Ross Ave. The last day to file for a place on the ballot is Monday, March 8, by 5 p.m. The election takes place Saturday, May 8
