School Zone Dallas Presents First Program Of The New Year

John Eagle Dealerships to Sponsor School Zone Dallas on KERA-Channel 13

DALLAS„ŸSchool Zone Dallas, the Emmy Award-winning TV show hosted by Dallas ISD students, airs its first program of 2010 Friday, February 19, on KERA-Channel 13, at 5 p.m. Additional broadcast dates and times are Sunday, February 21 at 10:30 a.m., and Monday, February 22, at 6 a.m.

School Zone Dallas focuses on the incredible students, wonderful teachers and excellent learning opportunities going on in the district every day.

Hosted from Victor H. Hexter Elementary School, named a 2009 Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education, the show highlights students, teachers and parents as they create a nurturing and inspirational learning garden.

Other stories include a look at students in Emmett J. Conrad High Schoolfs STEM Academy launching an aircraft into the atmosphere to study the curvature of the earth; what it takes to repair musical instruments for Dallas ISD students; and how Sunset High School became rated Recognized by the Texas Education Agency due to the hard work of students, staff and parents.

This yearfs cast includes co-hosts Lorena Watson, David W. Carter, and Nicholas Muston, Woodrow Wilson. Reporters on the program are Dennise and Daisy Quintanilla, the Law Magnet at Townview Center; Brandon Nwannunu, Emmett J. Conrad; Julie Negussie, W.T. White; Emma Cepeda, Sunset; Kalyce Simpson, Humanities/Communications Magnet at Lincoln; and Jose Ortiz, Skyline.
