Event Designed to Stimulate the Growth of
Minority and Women-Owned Businesses Working With Public Entities
DALLAS—Dallas ISD, the City of Dallas and Dallas County Community College District have joined together to sponsor the 2010 Knowledge is Power Conference, Monday, April 26 through Thursday, April 29, in the Ada L. Williams Auditorium, Administration Building, 3700 Ross Ave. The workshops will begin each day from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
The conference will target minority and women-owned businesses that provide goods and services to these public entities. The event also will offer informational workshops about doing business with public entities and foster business networking opportunities.
During the 2009 fiscal year, these public entities spent over $200 million with minority and women-owned businesses.
Several local chambers are partnering to make this event possible including the Dallas Black Chamber, Greater Dallas Asian Chamber and Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber.
