Dallas ISD Announces Finalists For 2010-2011 Teacher Assistant Of The Year

DALLAS–The Dallas Independent School District has presented five finalists for the 2010–2011 Teacher Assistant of the Year award.

The Teacher Assistant of the Year program recognizes the importance of the many contributions of campus teacher assistants for the dedication and support they provide to students, teachers, parents, and the community.

A selection committee composed of representatives from professional development, special education, PTA, Dallas Teen School Board, support employee organizations, community partners, teachers, teacher assistants, and central administrators, selected the finalists.

The finalists for the 2010–2011 Dallas ISD Teacher Assistant of the Year are:

• Northeast Learning Community,
  Rosemary Costello, Victor H. Hexter Elementary School

• Northwest Learning Community,
  Latoya Walters-Bufford, Sidney Lanier Expressive Arts Vanguard

• Southeast Learning Community,
  Linda Mack, Seagoville Elementary School
• 
  
• Southwest Learning Community,
  Erika Rodriguez, Margaret B. Henderson Elementary School
• 
  
• Secondary Learning Community,
  Nancy Martin, W.H. Gaston Middle School

The Dallas ISD will name the 2010-2011 Teacher Assistant of the Year at an awards program sponsored by H-E-B Central Market on Tuesday, May 25, at 6 p.m., at the Women's Museum at Fair Park, 3800 Parry Ave.
