Sixty-two Dallas ISD Students Presented With College Scholarships

DALLAS—Sixty-two Dallas ISD high school seniors received scholarships at the Superintendent's Scholarship Reception held recently at Emmett J. Conrad High School.

The $2,000 scholarships were awarded to students who have displayed outstanding character, demonstrated a commitment to others through community service and upheld high academic standards.

The scholarships are funded by the proceeds from the annual Superintendent's Scholarship Golf Classic and will go toward the students' college expenses.

In addition, the fourth annual Joe May Scholarship Award in the amount of $1,000 was presented to David Romero, a student at the School of Business and Management at Townview. Also, the scholarship named after Superintendent of Schools Michael Hinojosa's father, The Rev. Amado S. Hinojosa Scholarship in the amount of $1,000, was presented to Sarahi Garcia, a student at Bryan Adams High School.
