Event to mark beginning of construction had been set for May 28
DALLAS—A groundbreaking ceremony to herald the start of construction of a new Wilmer-Hutchins Elementary School has been postponed from its original May 28 date. A new date for the event has yet to be determined.
The new school is being built as part of the district's 2008 Bond Program and will be located on property on J.J. Lemmon Road near Langdon Road in Dallas. The school is scheduled to open in August 2011.
"Top two public high schools in the country—School for the Talented and Gifted and School for Science and Engineering. Finding great schools is hard; finding our list's two top schools close together in the same building is beyond belief."
