Students To Be Honored As Outstanding Graduates

19 May 2010

Principals Select Students for Maintaining High Academic Standards; Students Select Teachers for Positive Impact

DALLAS—The Dallas Education Foundation will honor 51 Dallas ISD seniors at the 2010 Principals' Outstanding Graduate Awards, 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 26, at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in the Stemmons Ballroom.

The awards honor graduating seniors for their commitment to upholding high academic standards. High school principals selected student recipients from among their school's current graduating class based on academic criteria, performance in the classroom, extra-curricular school involvement and community service. Selected students were required to be in the top 5 percent of their graduating class.

Each student honoree selected an outstanding teacher who contributed to their academic success. The teacher will be recognized along with the student during the event.

The Dallas Education Foundation is an independent nonprofit organization organized in 2006 for charitable and educational purposes to benefit the Dallas Independent School District. The Foundation receives funds from corporations, foundations and individuals in support of programs and initiatives to educate and graduate high-achieving, engaged students ready for college.
