DALLAS„ŸThe latest edition of Dallas ISDfs student-hosted show, School Zone Dallas, will air on KERA-Channel 13, courtesy of John Eagle Dealerships. The show will air May 28 at 5:30 p.m., May 30 at 10 a.m., and May 31 at 6 a.m.
Hosted from Thomas C. Marsh Middle School, School Zone Dallas will feature stories about a new International Baccalaureate program at Woodrow Wilson High School where students can earn up to 24 hours of college credit; Skyline High Schoolfs student-produced fashion show; Sequoyah Learning Centerfs new partnership with volunteers from the Watermark Community Church; and what it took for Molina High School to achieve a Recognized rating from the Texas Education Agency in a relatively short period of time.
Other stories include a look at how yoga is having a big impact on students' performance in the classroom at Eladio R. Martinez Learning Center; DARTfs new Rail Green Line that will soon connect communities stretching all the way from Pleasant Grove and downtown Dallas to Farmers Branch and Carrollton; and how a group of sixth grade students at E.D. Walker Middle School are using technology to learn about eco-systems.
Co-hosts for this edition of School Zone Dallas are graduating seniors, Lorena Watson, David W. Carter, and Nicholas Muston, Woodrow Wilson. Other cast members include graduating seniors Dennise and Daisy Quintanilla, the Law Magnet at Townview Center; Brandon Nwannunu, Emmett J. Conrad; Julie Negussie, W.T. White; Emma Cepeda, Sunset; and juniors Kalyce Simpson, Humanities/Communications Magnet at Lincoln; and Jose Ortiz, Skyline.
