Dallas ISD To Announce The 2010-2011 Teacher Of The Year And Teacher Assistant Of The Year

The awards program will be held Tuesday, May 25

DALLAS–The Dallas Independent School District will announce the 2010–2011 Teacher of the Year and Teacher Assistant of the Year during an awards program on Tuesday, May 25, at 6 p.m., at the Women's Museum at Fair Park, 3800 Parry Ave.

H-E-B Central Market, the awards program's sponsor, will present $5,000 to the Teacher of the Year and $1,000 to the finalists. The Teacher Assistant of the Year will receive $1,500 and each Teacher Assistant finalist will receive $250.

The finalists for the 2010–2011 Teacher of the Year are:

• Gena DeRose Dubberley, Anne Frank Elementary School

• Stacey Aldrich-Giard, W.H. Gaston Middle School

• Adam Brian Smith, Hillcrest High School

The 2010–2011 Teacher Assistant of the Year finalists are:

H-E-B Central Market will make a surprise cake/flower presentation to the Teacher of the Year and Teacher Assistant of the Year the next morning after the event.
