District To Outline Successful Strategies Used By Schools To Improve Student Performance

Fifteen Schools Will Share Steps Taken to Elevate Them to Academically Acceptable

DALLAS—Fifteen schools will outline successful strategies used to move their school from Academically Unacceptable to Academically Acceptable during community meetings scheduled throughout the district.

In 2009, the district had 21 Academically Unacceptable schools, and each was required by the Texas Education Agency to design and implement School Improvement Plans to raise student performance at their campuses.

Fifteen schools were successful in their efforts, elevating their school to Academically Acceptable. These schools will hold community meetings to present the strategies they used to improve academic performance and detail steps planned to continue moving their school toward exemplary status.

The meetings are as follows:



Dallas ISD previously held community meetings to develop School Improvement Plans for 14 schools rated Academically Unacceptable for 2010.
