Local Leaders To Become 'Principals for A Day' In Dallas ISD Schools

Guest Principals Will Learn About the Day-to-Day Operations of a School

DALLAS– Corporate, social, professional, civic and community leaders will greet students, make the morning announcements and walk the halls at more than half of the Dallas Independent School District schools as they leave their jobs to become "Principals for a Day" on Tuesday, October 5.

Sponsored by Capital One Bank, in partnership with the Dallas Regional Chamber, the Principal for a Day program gives community leaders the opportunity to experience firsthand what Dallas ISD principals encounter on a daily basis.

Some of the business and community leaders who will be "Principals for a Day" include:

• Jorge Calderon, Dallas Market President–Capital One Bank, will be at W.W. Samuell High School, 8928 Palisade Dr.

• Dallas Fire-Rescue Chief Eddie Burns will be at Martin Luther King Jr., Learning Center, 1817 Warren Ave.
• 
  
• Raúl Magdaleno, Director of Diversity and Outreach-Southern Methodist University-Meadows School of the Arts, will be "Principal for a Day" at Ignacio Zaragoza Elementary, 4550 Worth St.

"Principals for a Day" will be honored and thanked for their participation during a reception at 4 p.m., at the Rosewood Crescent Hotel, 400 Crescent Court.
