Ceremony Scheduled for Monday, Oct. 11
DALLAS–Dallas Independent School District officials, community members, alumni, students and staff will gather at the groundbreaking ceremony for the new W.H. Adamson High School, at 10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 11. The ceremony will take place at 309 East Ninth St.
As part of the 2008 Bond Program, a new 223,496 square feet, three-story high school will be constructed to serve 1,300 students. The new school is expected to open in August 2012.
Program participants include Principal Evangelina Kircher; Superintendent of Schools Michael Hinojosa; Eric Cowan, Board Trustee–District 7; Adamson Alumni Martha Hinojosa-Nadler; Dallas City Councilmember for District 1 Delia Jasso; Senior Class President Adan Gonzales; and Phil Jimerson, Deputy Chief of Operations, Dallas ISD. Also, the school's varsity choir will perform.
"Top two public high schools in the country-School for the Talented and Gifted and School for Science and Engineering. Finding great schools is hard; finding our list's two top schools close together in the same building is beyond belief."
