Enrollment Period For Free Tutoring Services Is Open

Eligible Dallas ISD Students Can Receive Free Tutoring in Math, Reading, and Science

DALLAS–Dallas Independent School District middle and high school students who attend a school that has missed Adequate Yearly Progress and are in its second, third, fourth, or fifth stage of the School Improvement Program as set out by No Child Left Behind standards, can now enroll to receive free tutoring services.

Tutoring in math, reading, and science is available for eligible students through the district's Project Opportunity! Program.

Project Opportunity! Is more than homework support. Approved providers are required to:

• review the student's areas of instructional need
• 
  
• identify strategies that will provide opportunities for solid learning and assistance
• 
  
• establish goals with the student and his/her parents
• 
  
• maintain a timetable for progress
• 
  
• monitor and assess student's progress
• 
  
• report the student's progress to the parent.
